But with summer basically here (despite the rain and the temperatures in the 50s here in the beautiful Berkshires) we thought we'd kick things off with a promotion.
Summer means different things to different people, of course. For some it's the beach. Others love to fire up the grill and eat to the point of glorious exhaustion. For us at Pennysleevers HQ, it brings back childhood memories of getting popsicle-sticky hands all over dad's vintage cards. Hours spent in a mildewy basement, looking at cardboard? Yes, please!
Decades later, some of those images linger in my imagination, but only one really screams summer. Some of you know where this is going...
Yes, the ultimate summer card, the glorious guns of Ted Kluszewski. For all I know, this picture was taken in early April, and tough guy Ted was just showing off, but to me, it's summer in full glory.
It also got me thinking about cards (of course). While those 57 inch biceps look fantastic without sleeves, sadly, this '57 Topps beauty doesn't. But we want to help.
